Paskong Pinoy ( Christmas in the Philippines )

Philippines are said to have a longest Christmas season. It's started as early as September unitl December (or they call it "-ber" months.).  Bright holiday decorations such as christmas tree, christmass lights and "parol"(star shaped-lanterns). There's a lot of carolers (usually children) singing from house to house with musical instrument ( tamburine that made up of  cap of bottle/ drums from milk can) to serenade you and your neighbors.

Filipinos attend "Misa de Gallo" whis is mass held before the dawn of December 16 to mark the start of the nine of novena. After mass people purchase native foods such as "puto bumbong" (rice steamed inside a small bamboo tube) "Bibingka" (rice cake with salted egg, cheese, butter and coconut meat on the top.)
And they also attend mid-night mass in the Christmas Eve, this is the time children wear new clothes. After the mass, families gather with their relatives and friends for "Noche Buena", this is the festive meal followed by exchange of gifts
